Crochet a Granny Square Workshop

Learn to crochet a granny square with Bree!

Whether you're new to crochet or not, it's always a great time to expand your skills! 

Join Bree for a workshop designed to help you crochet a granny square.

Using a granny square pattern designed to teach you the granny stitch, square construction, and how to read a pattern (written + diagram), you'll complete a granny square.

This workshop will also cover finishing and blocking, as well as popular seaming options and ideas for projects that use granny squares.

What you need to know and be comfortable completing without help from the instructor (or you're willing to learn before this class): Foundational crochet skills, including chain, yarn over, slip stitch, double crochet stitch, counting stitches, and reading your fabric. Bonus if you've used a crochet pattern or two.

What you'll learn in this class:

Granny stitch and granny square construction, reading written crochet instructions, understanding a crochet diagram, crocheting in the round, finishing your square, color changes, and a demo of popular seaming techniques.

Required Materials: 

We hope you'll consider supporting us by purchasing your materials at Knit 1! 

Yarn: We will provide a variety of chunky weight yarn for you to use during the workshop.

Hook: BYOH! Please bring your own hook in a size K 6.5mm or L 8mm

Notions: Please bring a tapestry needle to weave your ends
