Stockings are a wonderful Christmas tradition, made all the sweeter if you knit them up yourself! Get into the spirit with this class taught by one of our star teachers, Theresa!
This class will guide you through reading colorwork charts, working stranded colorwork, and construction tips! If you're interested in making socks, this toe-up stocking is the perfect way to learn the techniques on a larger, less fiddly scale.
What you need to know and be comfortable completing without help from the instructor (or you're willing to learn before this class): Knit, purl, knitting in the round
What you'll learn in this class: How to work a toe-up stocking construction, Judy's Magic Cast On, how to shape a short row heel, working an applied i-cord edge, tips and tricks for stranded colorwork
Required Materials:

Yarn: Materials for this stocking are listed in total grams, divided equally among three colors
- 100g TOTAL of worsted weight yarn in at least three colors
Recommended yarns from the shop include: Cascade 220, Donegal Soft Tweed, Rosarios 4 Terra
Needles:
- US 7 16" circular needles
- US 6 double pointed needles for the i-cord
Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle, a way to track charts either printed or digital

Class Policies
- All class fees are non-refundable. If you have a conflict, you must notify us 7 days before the start date of your first class in order to receive store credit. We will always do our best to help you reschedule, but it may not always be possible.
- Our group classes and private lessons are designed for adults ages 18 and up.
- No store credit will be issued for unattended classes and no store credit will be issued for cancellations made within 7 days of the start date of the first class.
- We put the health and safety of all our staff and community members first. If you have been exposed to Covid or you are otherwise feeling unwell, we ask that you please stay home.
- We have a class minimum of 3 students, so it’s never a bad idea to sign up with a friend or two! If you are the only student that signs up for one of our classes, we will contact you ahead of time and issue a full refund if there is a cancellation on our part.
- We understand that sometimes students need some extra help outside of class, so we offer Project Support and Private Lessons.
- For our students to get personalized attention, we like to keep our class sizes small. For this reason, we require students to sign up in advance for all of our classes, lessons, and project support sessions.
