Make your new favorite reversible hat!

TWO Mondays from 6-8pm on the following dates: Nov 10th & Dec 8th

The Musselburgh hat by Ysolda Teague is one of the most popular patterns ever created - and we know why! This pattern works with 3 different weights of yarn, is endlessly customizable, and is reversible.

Except for some shaping at either end, the Musselburgh knits up meditatively, making it the perfect project for Zoom meetings, knitting walks, or road trips.

What you need to know and be comfortable completing without help from the instructor (or you're willing to learn before this class):  Knit, purl, knitting in the round

What you'll learn in this class: A special center-out cast on for the beginning of the crown of the hat, how to count and use your gauge for a great fit, and different color blocking options, comfortably knitting small circumferences, increases and decreases for a hat

Required Materials:

We hope you'll consider supporting us by purchasing your materials at Knit 1!

Yarn: This pattern can be knit in anything from a light fingering weight to a DK weight yarn. Yardage will depend on the size being knit up and the weight of the yarn being used. Between 130 - 610 yards

Recommended yarns from the shop: The world is your oyster! Truly! Come into the shop and we'll help you pick something lovely that suits your needs.

Needles: Needles depend on the weight of the yarn being used. Anything from a US 2.5 to US 7. You’ll want a 16” circular in your chosen needle size, and your preferred super-small circumference needle set up (DPNs, Flexi-flips, or a long needle for magic loop) in the same size.

Notions: Tapestry needle, scissors, stitch markers
