Learn to knit the perfect cold-weather accessory with a pop of color!
FOUR Mondays from 6-8pm on the following dates: Sept 22nd*, Oct 6th & 20th, and Nov 3rd
This gender neutral, adjustable cowl pattern is the perfect accessory for cold winter days. The mosaic colorwork pattern is made even more engaging by the use of two different yarn textures throughout, and it features a fluffy, soft lining on the inside!
The Snuggle is Real cowl by Maxim Cyr adds a bit of comfort and warmth to any outfit, or makes the perfect holiday gift for anyone in your life!
*Note: For those folks who would like to take this class but are unable to make the first class due to the holiday, there is an alternate start date of Sept 21st 4:30 to 6:30 pm. If you would like this option, please let us know after signing up for the course.
What you need to know and be comfortable completing without help from the instructor (or you're willing to learn before this class): Knit, purl, knitting in the round, provisional cast on
What you'll learn: Mosaic colorwork knitting, kitchener stitch bind off, how to knit an i-cord
Required Materials:

Yarn: This pattern suggests two separate yarn weights:
- Main Color: 225 yds of DK weight yarn
- Contrast Color 1: 225 yds of DK weight yarn
- Contrast Color 2: 340 yds of lace weight yarn held double

DK: West Yorkshire Spinners Fleece Bluefaced Leicester, Malabrigo Rios, Kathmandu DK, Muse & Method The Go-To
LACE: Muse & Method The Floofs, Herriot Fine, Lamana Premia
Needles:
- 2 sets of US 6 24" circular needles (extra needle used for kitchener bind off)
- US 4 DPNs or circular needle for i-cord drawstring
Notions: stitch markers, tapestry needle, scissors

This class is intended for adults. We welcome our younger knitters in private lessons only. For inquiries, please reach out to breean@knit1chgo.com. Minimum enrollment of 3 students is required for class to take place.

Class Policies
- All class fees are non-refundable. If you have a conflict, you must notify us 48 hours before the start date of your first class in order to receive store credit. We will always do our best to help you reschedule, but it may not always be possible.
- Our group classes are for students ages 12 and up. Younger students are welcome to join us for private lessons. We highly recommend a parent or guardian be present for the duration of the lesson.
- No store credit will be issued for unattended classes and no store credit will be issued for cancellations made within 48 hours of the start date of the first class.
- We put the health and safety of all our staff and community members first. If you have been exposed to Covid or you are otherwise feeling unwell, we ask that you please stay home.
- We have a class minimum of 3 students, so it’s never a bad idea to sign up with a friend or two! If you are the only student that signs up for one of our classes, we will contact you ahead of time and issue a full refund if there is a cancellation on our part.
- We understand that sometimes students need some extra help outside of class, so we offer Project Support and Private Lessons.
- For our students to get personalized attention, we like to keep our class sizes small. For this reason, we require students to sign up in advance for all of our classes, lessons, and project support sessions.
