Calling all crocheters! If you've recently learned to crochet with us, or you're looking for a classic crochet project, come join us. We'll learn endlessly useful granny stitch pattern together and turn it into a wearable shawl.
What you need to know: Students should be familiar with crochet chain and double crochet stitches
What you’ll learn:Granny square construction, slip stitch, finishing a crochet project
Required Materials:
We hope you’ll consider supporting us by purchasing your materials at Knit 1!
Yarn: 350-600 yards of aran-weight or bulky yarn
Recommended yarns: Noro Ito, Noro Malvinas, Malabrigo Chunky, Malabrigo Mecha, Mitchell Wool Co. Bulky
Hook: Size I - 5.5mm or Size J - 6.0mm crochet hook, depending on yarn (gauge is not critical for this project)
Notions: tapestry needle

This class is intended for adults. We welcome our younger knitters in private lessons only. For inquiries, please reach out to breean@knit1chgo.com.

Class Policies
- All class fees are non-refundable. If you have a conflict, you must notify us 48 hours before the start date of your first class in order to receive store credit. We will always do our best to help you reschedule, but it may not always be possible.
- No store credit will be issued for unattended classes and no store credit will be issued for cancellations made within 48 hours of the start date of the first class.
- We put the health and safety of all our staff and community members first. If you have been exposed to Covid or you are otherwise feeling unwell, we ask that you please stay home.
- We have a class minimum of 3 students, so it’s never a bad idea to sign up with a friend or two! If you are the only student that signs up for one of our classes, we will contact you ahead of time and issue a full refund if there is a cancellation on our part.
- We understand that sometimes students need some extra help outside of class, so we offer Project Support and Private Lessons.
- For our students to get personalized attention, we like to keep our class sizes small. For this reason, we require students to sign up in advance for all of our classes, lessons, and project support sessions.
