Learn to Spin with Oberon Waters
Saturday, October 19th at 6-7:30pm
Spin There, Done That!
During this 1.5-hour workshop, students will use touch-learning to demonstrate the ability to spin fibre into usable yarn. Part of this course is intended to teach technical skill, and part of this course is intended to bring new thought to the material that fiber artists have been using every day for years.
This workshop is split into two parts:
Part 1: A brief history of spinning, explanation of raw materials, instructor demo, and a bit of free experimentation.
Part 2: Hands-on learning & trouble shooting using a drop spindle. You'll also learn how to set your finished yarn.
What you need to know: No prerequisite knowledge or skills required!
What you’ll learn: How to spin yarn using a drop spindle.
All materials included!
What you'll get:
90 minutes of expert instruction from fiber artist & Knit 1 community member Oberon Waters
Drop spindle
Fiber for spinning in class & a bit to take home with you to practice!
This class is intended for adults.
Minimum enrollment of 2 students is required for class to take place.
