Post Polar Vortex

We're up and running.  The street's a mess outside the store, but Lincoln Avenue's been plowed and you can park in front.  It's pretty warm and toasty in the store and we have new winter yarns arriving all month.  We have some new colors of some of our favorites and restock of Malabrigo Rasta, Mecha and worsted.   And too many other things to list.

I just posted the new session of Beginning Knitting for February and registration is open.  We still have space in Mucklemitts (color knitting), and Building Blocks goes on all year!  The Intro to Crochet has only one person so far.  Crochet is a great skill to have in your repertoire; so many uses for knitters or non knitters.  If you're on the fence you won't be unhappy if you sign up!

Come visit, get out of the house and learn something new!

Wintertime Accoutrements + Book and Pattern Sale

It's not even officially winter and the whole country is in a cold weather tizzy!  It's 9 degrees here this morning and the snow is sparkling in the sunshine.  If you're wringing your hands worrying about how you're going to survive the next xnumber of months we have some inspiration for you.  We have a collection of beautiful, knittable and affordable model garments at the shop right now.  They are on loan from our friends at Skacel.  Please stop by and see them, they're only here for a short time and they will spark your creativity and kindle a warmth that only knitting can!  The patterns for most of the garments are free and we have a beautiful selection of the yarns they use like Kenzie, pictured above.

The Pine Bough Cowl is simple colorwork that would be suitable for an advanced beginning knitter.  It's a free and well-written pattern with a giant, easy-to-follow chart.  I'm making one and it's quite addictive.  And if you need help with it or any other project our Monday Night Project Class is only $20.
