A fantastic class for first-time sock knitters!
FOUR Tuesdays from 6pm-8pm on the following dates: May 6th, 13th, and 27th, June 10th
Are you ready to conquer your first sock? This class is for you! The Thicksgiving Sock has you hold two strands of fingering weight yarn at the same time to create a lovely, squishy sock.
This makes it a great pattern to dive into knitting socks since you get to learn everything at a larger gauge with larger needles. These socks are also an excellent stashbuster!
In this class, you will learn about sock fit, cuff-down construction, the flap and gusset style heel, and how to Kitchener stitch your sock toes.
You will be able to choose between either a ribbed or stockinette fabric, and Theresa will guide you through choosing a size based on your gauge. Note: While the pattern also includes a cabled cuff sock, the class will not cover this option.
What you need to know and be comfortable completing without help from the instructor (or you're willing to learn before this class): How to knit and purl in the round, knitting in a small circumference using double pointed needles or magic loop
What you'll learn in this class: How to achieve gauge for a sock, cuff down sock construction, a Gusset and Flap style heel, Kitchener stitch, marling (holding more than one strand of yarn at once)
Required Materials:
We hope you'll consider supporting us by purchasing your materials at Knit 1!
