Learn to knit a colorful brioche scarf!
FOUR Sundays from 2-4pm on the following dates: June 15th & 29th, and July 13th & 27th
Would you like to really master brioche with a not-so-scary accessory knit?
Are you looking for the cutest, funkiest way to use up one gorgeous skein of Spincycle Dream State?
Look no further than DEGEN's Bon Bon Scarf. This cutie little scarf can be worn a million ways (including as a head wrap) and we think there's no better way to show off a colorful or variegated yarn!
What you need to know and be comfortable completing without help from the instructor (or you're willing to learn before this class): Must be comfortable with knitting basics. While brioche knowledge is not REQUIRED for this class, some basic understanding will help you succeed. This is not an appropriate class for beginner knitters, but would be a great first brioche project for more intermediate knitters.
What you'll learn/skills you will improve on: Brioche cast on, brioche knit and purl, working with multiple needles, counting your rows in brioche, how to fix brioche mistakes, how to resolve brioche for the bindoff, a fun way to make a keyhole in your scarf!
Required Materials:
We hope you'll consider supporting us by purchasing your materials at Knit 1!
Yarn: Gauge is not super important for this class, but changing the yarn weight will effect the needle size and look of the completed scarf. The pattern is modular and you can add "bons" for length, but this will affect yardage. Please have equal amounts of both of your yarns if you will be adding length.
- Yarn A: 150 - 200 yds DK weight
- Yarn B: 150 - 200 yds DK weight
Recommended yarns from the shop: Spincycle Dream State, Malabrigo Rios, Muse & Method The Go-To, American Fiber Ramboiullet DK, Queensland Kathmandu DK, Spincycle Metamorphic
Needles:
- US 2 DPNs
- US 6 16" circular needles
Notions: Scissors, waste yarn or a large stitch holder
What you'll get:
- Four 2-hour class sessions with expert instruction by Carissa
- Digital copy of Bon Bon Scarf pattern by DEGEN (PDF via email & in your Ravelry library)
