Learn to knit a colorful intarsia tee without or without the ruffle sleeve.

If you’re looking to add something eye-catching to your summer wardrobe while adding new skills to your knitting repertoire, then look no further than the Ardent tee!
This striking intarsia top includes refined finishes like an i-cord neckline, folded hems, a surface crochet detail up the back, and a split at the hips for movement.
This class will come with options for the ruffle sleeve or for a more simple finished short sleeve, but no matter what route you choose the Ardent tee is the perfect chance for some summer color-blocking fun.
What you need to know and be comfortable completing without help from the instructor (or you're willing to learn before this class): Knit and purl (flat and in the round), knitting in a small circumference, german short rows, how to pick up stitches
What you'll learn: Provisional cast on, knitting a folded hem, intarsia and reading intarsia charts, surface crochet detail on a knitted garment, ruffled sleeve

Yarn: The gauge is 22 stitches and 35 rows = 4 inches in St st worked flat on 3.75mm needles, after blocking. Depending on your gauge, you will need sport or DK weight yarn in three colors:
- Yarn A: 370 to 925 yds
- Yarn B: 370 to 925 yds
- Yarn C: 185 yds for contrast section
Recommended yarns from the shop: Manos del Uruguay Milo, Noro Sonata & Sonata Shima, Noro Kakigori, Noro Kompieto, Katia Wabi-Sabi, Juniper Moon Farms Summer Solstice & Summer Solstice Paints,
Needles: US 5 32” circular needle for body, plus US 5 in preferred method for working small circumference for the sleeves (Magic Loop, 9" or 12" circular, or double pointed needles)
Hook: US F (3.75mm)
Notions: stitch markers (locking), scrap yarn or barber cord, tapestry needle

Class Policies
- All class fees are non-refundable. If you have a conflict, you must notify us 48 hours before the start date of your first class in order to receive store credit. We will always do our best to help you reschedule, but it may not always be possible.
- No store credit will be issued for unattended classes and no store credit will be issued for cancellations made within 48 hours of the start date of the first class.
- We put the health and safety of all our staff and community members first. If you have been exposed to Covid or you are otherwise feeling unwell, we ask that you please stay home.
- We have a class minimum of 3 students, so it’s never a bad idea to sign up with a friend or two! If you are the only student that signs up for one of our classes, we will contact you ahead of time and issue a full refund if there is a cancellation on our part.
- We understand that sometimes students need some extra help outside of class, so we offer Project Support and Private Lessons.
- For our students to get personalized attention, we like to keep our class sizes small. For this reason, we require students to sign up in advance for all of our classes, lessons, and project support sessions.
